The major indices of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange were unchanged from the previous session on Wednesday, December 20.
This happened despite a marginal price appreciation in the stocks of Geo-Fluids Plc, gaining 1 Kobo to close at N2.65 per unit compared with the previous day’s N2.64 per unit.
At the close of transactions, the market capitalisation of the alternative securities exchange remained at N1.240 trillion, while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) remained intact at 914.58 points.
In the midweek session, investors traded a total of 20.5 million units of securities, in contrast to the 22.8 million units of securities transacted in the preceding session, indicating a slump of 10.2 per cent.
Equally, the value of shares exchanged by the market participants went lower by 31.2 per cent to N56.9 million from N82.7 million, as the total number of deals closed downward by 40 per cent to nine transactions from the 15 deals quoted at the preceding market day.
UBN Property Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.7 billion units of stocks valued at N2.2 billion, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc was in second place with 1.2 billion units sold for N22.4 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 832.1 units worth N1.7 billion.
CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 1.2 billion units worth N22.4 billion, VFD Group was in the second spot with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 7.8 million units valued at N3.2 billion.
