The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange registered a 0.09 per cent drop on Wednesday, July 19, with the market capitalisation losing N940 million to wrap the day at N1.079 trillion, in contrast to the previous day’s N1.080 trillion, as the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went down by 0.68 points to settle at 780.09 points compared with Tuesday’s 780.77 points.

During the midweek trading day, the value of transactions slumped by 74.8 per cent as investors traded shares worth N2.3 million compared with the preceding day’s N9.2 million.

Equally, the volume of securities bought and sold by the market participants went down by 67.7 per cent to 32,722 units from the previous day’s 101,299 units.

In the same vein, the number of deals carried out during the session declined by 58.8 per cent to 14 deals from the 34 deals carried out in the previous session.

At the close of business, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 1.1 billion units valued at N21.2 billion, Geo-Fluids stood in second place with 625.9 units worth N1.1 billion, while Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was in third place with 608.3 million units valued at N48.1 million.

Also, CSCS Plc closed the trading session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 1.1 billion units worth N21.2 billion, VFD Group followed with 18.9 million units valued at N4.2 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc was in third place with 625.9 million units worth N1.1 billion.
