NASD Unlisted Securities Index Sinks 0.44%

Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc dragged the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange into the negative territory by 0.44 per cent on Thursday, April 20.

The stock price of the Nigerian securities depository company went down by N1.10 during the session to trade at N14.25 per share compared with the previous day’s closing value of N15.35 per share.

CSCS Plc upturned the gains printed by the duo of Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc and Geo-Fluids Plc.

NDEP appreciated during the day by 56 Kobo to quote at N210.56 per unit versus Wednesday’s value of N210.00 per unit, while Geo Fluids Plc gained 21 Kobo to finish at N2.35 per share compared with the midweek session’s N2.14 per share.

At the close of business, the market capitalisation of the bourse went down by N4.51 billion to N1.021 trillion from N1.026 trillion, while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) shed 3.25 points to end the day at 738.77 points, in contrast to the previous day’s 742.02 points.

The volume of securities traded at the bourse yesterday increased by 500.9 per cent to 11.1 million units from 1.8 million units, the value of shares went up by 330.0 per cent to N65.1 million from the N15.1 million made on Wednesday, and the number of deals surged 26.3 per cent to 24 deals from the 19 deals carried out in the preceding session.

Geo-Fluids Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) for selling 820.8 million units worth N1.3 billion, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was in second place with 615.6 million units valued at N48.6 million, while UBN Property Plc stood in third place with 369.8 units worth N313.0 million.

Also, VFD Group Plc was the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 10.4 million units valued at N2.4 billion, Geo-Fluids Plc traded 820.8 million units worth N1.3 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria exchanged 4.6 million units valued at N320.0 million.
