NDEP, Two Others Lift Unlisted Securities Exchange by 0.76%

Transactions at the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed higher by 0.76 per cent on Tuesday, March 8 on the back of the gains printed by three stocks.

Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc recorded a gain of N8 or 4 per cent to close at N200.00 per share in contrast to N192.00 per share it closed on Monday.

On its part, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc appreciated by N2 or 1.6 per cent to settle at N125.00 per unit compared with the preceding day’s closing price of N123 per unit.

As for Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc, it grew yesterday by 26 kobo or 1.4 per cent to trade at N18.50 per share as against N18.24 per share it finished a day earlier.

The appreciation in these stocks expanded the market capitalisation of the bourse by N4.7 billion to end at N621.06 billion in contrast to N616.36 billion it finished on Tuesday.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) increased by 5.55 points to wrap the session at 733.44 points compared with 727.89 points of the previous session.

During the session, there was an increase in terms of the volume of securities by 5.2 per cent as investors transacted a total of 88,452 units compared to the previous trading day’s 84,067 units.

Also, the value of the stocks transacted by investors at the unlisted securities exchange increased by 259.6 per cent to N9.3 million from N2.6 million, while the number of deals remained unchanged at five deals.

CSCS Plc closed the day as the most traded security by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 656.8 million units valued at N13.8 billion, followed by AG Mortgage Bank Plc with 32.0 million units valued at N16.7 million, and NASD Plc with the sale of 21.9 million units worth N215.7 million.

CSCS Plc also ended the session as the most active stock by value (year-to-date) with a turnover of 656.8 million units traded for N13.8 billion, trailed by VFD Group Plc with 916,161 units worth N331.5 million, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with 2.2 million units traded for N270.8 million.
