Nigeria’s OTC Securities Exchange Rises 1%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 1.00 per cent appreciation on Tuesday, December 12, with three stocks on the platform closing higher.

11 Plc appreciated by N17.47 to end the session at N200.00 per unit compared with the previous day’s closing price of N182.53 per unit, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc improved its value by N1.36 to finish at N75.92 per share versus Monday’s N74.56 per share, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc gained 61 Kobo to settle at N19.86 per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s N19.25 per unit.

As a result, the value of the NASD OTC securities exchange went up by N12 billion to close at N1.209 trillion compared with the previous day’s N1.197 trillion as the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) expanded by 8.85 points to wrap the session at 892.40 points versus the 883.55 points recorded at the previous session.

During the trading session, the volume of securities traded by investors increased by 99.4 per cent to 3.7 million units from 591.4 million, the value of shares went down by 91.6 per cent to N92.6 million from the N1.1 billion transacted in the previous trading session, while the number of deals increased by 9.1 per cent to 24 deals from the 22 deals executed a day earlier.

At the close of business, UBN Property Plc maintained its spot as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis for the second straight day with 1.7 billion units sold for N2.2 billion, CSCS Plc was in second place with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.4 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc occupied the third place with 732.1 units worth N1.4 billion.

However, CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 1.2 billion units worth N22.4 billion, VFD Group trailed with 26.6 million units valued at N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 7.8 million units sold for N3.1 billion.
