Nigeria’s Unlisted Securities Close Week in Flat Territory

The final trading session at the NASD Over-the-Counter ended a volatile week of trading in the flat territory on Friday, February 13 as major market gauges made no movement from their previous positions.

The market capitalisation, as a result, stood at N527.98 billion while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) ended the day at 735.84 points.

However, on the activity chart, the trading volume decreased by 97.3 per cent to 13,800 units from the previous day’s 504,750 units, while the trading value declined by 97.5 per cent to N220,965 from N8.8 million recorded on Thursday.

In the same vein, the number of deals decreased by 60 per cent as two deals were executed compared to five deals recorded at the previous session.

These deals were executed on the shares of Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc.

Business Post reports that there was no single price mover at the bourse yesterday as all the admitted stocks retained their previous closing prices.

At the close of business, UBN Property Plc was the most active stock by volume (year-to-date) with 15.5 million units of its shares sold for N16.8 million. CSCS Plc was in second place with 2.9 million units worth N46.0 million, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc held the third position with 1.9 million units worth N240.1 million.

On the flip side, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc was the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) for transacting 1.9 million units valued at N240.1 million. Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc trailed with 487,711 units of its securities valued at N161.2 million, while CSCS has traded 2.9 million units worth N46.0 million.
