Nipco, Three Others Sink NASD Exchange by 0.60%

Four unlisted equities further weakened the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 0.60 per cent on Thursday, August 27.
The price decliners were led by Nipco Plc, which recorded a N36.56 dip to close at N420.44 per share versus N457.00 per share, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc lost N3.83 to end at N143.17 per unit versus the previous day’s N147.00 per unit, Geo-Fluids Plc weakened by 14 Kobo to N1.94 per share from N2.08 per share, and 11 Plc depreciated by 10 Kobo to N220.00 per unit from N220.10 per unit.
As a result, the market capitalisation retreated by N15.33 billion to N2.556 trillion from N2.571 trillion, and the NASD Security Index (NSI) dipped by 25.55 points to 4,258.51 from 4,284.06 points.
Yesterday, the volume of securities soared by 912.6 per cent to 239,803 units from 23,682 units, and the value of securities surged by 987.7 per cent to N23.2 million from the preceding session’s N2.1 million, while the number of deals slid by 4.8 per cent to 20 deals from 21 deals.
Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) Plc ended the day as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units valued at N8.4 billion, trailed by Infrastructure Credit Guarantee (Infracredit) Plc with 2.3 billion units sold for N6.5 billion, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc with 80.0 million units exchanged for N5.8 billion.
GNI Plc also closed the session as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis, with 3.4 billion units worth N8.4 billion, followed by Infracredit Plc with 2.3 billion units transacted for N6.5 billion, and Resourcery Plc with 1.1 billion units traded for N415.7 million.
