The duo of Afriland Properties Plc and Aradel Holdings Plc lifted the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange by 2.23 per cent on Thursday, March 28.
Afriland Properties Plc saw a 80 Kobo growth to sell at N8.80 per share compared to the preceding day’s N8.00 per share, and Aradel Holdings Plc gained N152.88 to end at N2,152.88 per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s N2,000.00 per unit.
At the close of business, the value of the OTC equity market grew by N32.81 billion to N1.503 trillion from N1.470 trillion it ended a day earlier, and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded a rise of 24.2 points to end the day at 1,108.97 points as against 1,084.77 points it recorded at the previous session.
The bourse posted a price loser yesterday and this was Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, which suffered a decline of 30 Kobo, trading at N23.20 per share versus Wednesday’s closing price of N23.50 per share.
It was observed that the level of activity improved during the trading session, the last for this week due to a public holiday declared for Friday and next Monday for Easter celebration.
The volume of securities traded at the bourse by investors surged by 60,375.5 per cent to 38.9 million units from midweek’s 64,337 units, the value of securities transacted appreciated by 1,712.4 per cent to N1.2 billion from N60.4 million, and the number of deals increased by 54.2 per cent to 37 deals from 24 deals.
When trading activities ended for the session, IPWA Plc remained as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 79.9 million units worth N40.0 million, followed by Mixta Real Estate Plc with 69.9 million units valued at N114.6 million, and Geo-Fluids Plc with 58.8 million units sold for N146.3 million.
Also, Aradel Holdings Plc remained as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 3.3 million units valued at N6.7 billion, trailed by CSCS Plc with 42.8 million units worth N1.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 5.0 million units sold for N375.4 million.
