Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers Limited, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, has expressed its desire to become one of the top five firms in the industry.

At a media parley on Thursday in Lagos, the company said its main aim of joining the industry was to allay the fears of Nigerians about insurance.

It is a known fact that many Nigerians do not subscribe to insurance policies because they feel it is unnecessary and a waste of money.

In some cases, they go spiritual and sentimental; thinking subscribing to any insurance policy is a way of inviting danger to themselves.

At the parley with media executives on Thursday, Head of Business Development, Mrs Ibiyemi Mezu, stated that after a thorough research, the firm found out that the reason for the scare by Nigerians was also because of the point of claims, which subscribers feel was intentionally made very frustrating by insurance companies.

But Mrs Mezu emphasised that with Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers Limited, all these would be sorted out. She said aside the various benefits Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers Limited is offering, the firm wants to serve and satisfy clients.

She said aside just having corporate bodies subscribing to insurance plans, retailers would be motivated to also key into insurance policies, especially in this time Nigeria is battling with recession.

The company’s top shot said Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers Limited would make use of various social media platforms to achieve this goal and also to educate Nigerians on the importance of subscribing to insurance plans.

Mrs Mezu noted that her organisation would help clients simplify the process of buying insurance plans and would engage in claims management, insurance brokerage, risk assessment and management, fidelity guarantee insurance and many more at no extra cost.
