The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited will not operate for a full day on Friday, December 24, 2021, Business Post has confirmed.
A notice from the exchange disclosed that trading activities will end today by 12:30 pm instead of the usual 2:30 pm.
Next week, according to the disclosure, the market will only open its doors to traders for just three days and next Friday, activities will end again at 12:30 pm.
It was explained that next Monday and Tuesday, there will not be any trading activity as a result of the public holidays declared by the federal government for Christmas.
“In light of the Christmas and New Year holidays, please be informed that the market will close for trading at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 24, and Friday, December 31, 2021.
“In addition, the market will be closed on Monday, December 27, 2021; Tuesday, December 28, 2021; and Monday, January 3, 2022, to observe the public holidays declared by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
“We thank you for your support and various contributions to the growth of our market in 2021, and we wish you Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Please continue to stay safe,” the statement said.
