Stockbrokers’ Compliance Officers Meets Tomorrow

Compliance Officers of stock broking firms approved by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) will be having their quarterly meeting on Wednesday, October 25, 2017.

A statement issued by the Head of Broker Dealer Regulation at the stock market regulator, Olufemi Shobanjo, disclosed that the quarterly forum will take place by 10am at the 20th Floor, Stock Exchange House, 2/4, Customs Street, Lagos.

During the meeting, members will review minutes of the second quarter compliance forum held on June 29, 2017, and also receive update from the Compliance Officers Committees: Rules Development and Review Committee; Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee; and Monitoring and Reporting Committee.

In addition, they will deliberate on the prohibition of guaranteed investments – (GC/HoR), due Diligence Book- (GC/HoR), update on Broker Ancillary Services – (Head, BDR) as well as unbundling of Dealing Member Firms with Multiple Registration Functions – (Head, BDR).

Furthermore, the forum will look into the upcoming X-Academy events – (Head, Licensing and Relationship Training), submission of Regulatory Reports – (Head, Monitoring and Enforcement), and the 2017 Supervision Priorities and Risk Based Examinations – (Head, Inspections and Examinations).

Also on the agenda is the update on implementation of the SEC Complaints Management Framework – (Head, Tips and Complaints Management), update on X-BOSS (X-BOSS Admin), update on Rules and Regulations – (Acting HOD, Rules and Interpretation), integrating sustainability into their Businesses- (Head, Corporate Communication), and training on Legal and Risk Aspects of Derivatives and Central Counterparty Clearing as well as transactions organized by the Legal Department – (Head, Legal).
