Stocks on NASD Exchange Record no Price Movement Monday

Prices of all stocks listed on the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange remained static at the close of business on Monday, February 10, 2020 as their were neither price gainer nor price losers.

Also, the key market performance indicators maintained their previous levels at the end of transactions today, with the market capitalisation flat at N501.73 billion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) unchanged at 697.86 points.

However, the volume of shares transacted by market participants at the bourse dipped by 99.9 percent or 2.49 million units as only 1,600 units of the unlisted securities were traded on Monday compared with 2.5 million units exchanged last Friday, which was the last trading session before today.

In the same vein, the value of the trades depreciated by 95 percent or N3.8 million to N188,800 in contrast to the N3.9 million worth of shares transacted at the previous trading day.

In addition, the total of deals executed by investors during the today’s session reduced significantly by 88.89 percent or eight deals as only a single deal occurred on the NASD Exchange today as against the nine deals of last Friday.

Business Post reports that when market activities were wrapped up on Monday, Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc remained as the most traded equity at the unlisted securities market in Nigeria by value (year-to-date). A total of 3.7 million units of the company’s stocks worth N1.2 billion have been traded so far this year by traders.

Trailing NDEP was Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria Plc, which has transacted 525,967 units valued at N67.1 million, while Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS) Plc has sold 3.7 million units worth N43.7 million.

But when this is measured by volume (year-to-date), ARM Life Plc remains on the number one position with 29 million units of its shares worth N18.3 million traded by investors. It is trailed by NDEP Plc, which has sold 3.7 million units valued at N1.2 billion, and CSCS Plc, which has exchanged 3.7 million units worth N43.7 million.
