A new multi-currency mobile app, straitPay, has been introduced to offer customers in Nigeria, Ghana and the United Kingdom a simplified approach to holding various African currencies, ensuring the ability to transmit and transact directly across the continent in a matter of minutes.

In a statement issued by the developers of the initiative, straitPay is tailored for global customers who wish to spend and purchase items directly in Africa from the comfort of their smartphone.

New customers can open a multi-currency wallet with no hidden costs and are able to spend and invest via the straitPay mobile application.

straitPay aims to disrupt the fintech sector by allowing users to send or spend money the way that suits them – using bank cards & current accounts, or by simply using their mobile number allowing them to enjoy the benefits of their multi-currency African wallet.

The app currently offers transfers and multi-currency wallets in the following currencies: GBP, GHS, NGN, and USD. However, the firm has plans to extend its services to other countries on the continent.

Commenting on the launch of the platform, the founder of straitPay, Kele Okafor, stated that: “This is an exciting time for us at straitPay and we are excited to finally bring our solution to market. We are passionate about offering solutions that provide convenience, less hassle and direct access to Africa.

“Our platform is focused on creating a wealthier African continent by offering our customers around the globe a chance to interact smoothly with Africa, protect the health of their loved ones, and grow wealth by investing in Africa. We believe in the potential of Africa, and we are determined to ensure Africa prospers.”

straitPay has ambitious plans and is focused on building a strong customer base globally with a particular focus on Europe initially. The firm also plans to become a competitive company in the fintech and payments sector.

To download the straitPay app, users can visit the Apple store for iOS or Playstore for Android to enjoy instant transactions with Africa.
