Tension as Police Storm Oando Head Office in Lagos

Reports reaching us indicate that the head office of Oando Plc located on Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, has been taken over by security operatives from the Nigeria Police Force.

It was learned that the security officials were at the company’s premises on Monday morning to usher in the interim board newly constituted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to pilot affairs of the energy company.

It was gathered the the presence of the police personnel disrupted activities at the headquarters this morning as some workers had to return home.

Last Friday, SEC announced outcome of the forensic audit of the company started in some months ago, ordering the Group Chief Executive Officer of Oando, Mr Wale Tinubu, and other affected board member to resign.

Oando later released a statement saying it was not given the opportunity to see details of the forensic audit and defend itself.
