Three Stocks Lift NASD OTC Exchange by 0.88%

Appreciation in the stock prices of Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, and Afriland Properties saw the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange close 0.88 per cent higher on Thursday, August 10.

NDEP Plc appreciated by N25 yesterday to sell at N420.00 per unit compared to the N395.00 per unit it traded the previous session, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc improved its value by N2.54 to close at N74.00 per share versus the preceding day’s N71.46 per share, and Afriland Properties Plc jumped by 3 Kobo to close the day at N3.35 per unit, in contrast to Wednesday’s N3.32 per unit.

This lifted the market capitalisation of the NASD OTC Exchange by N9.53 billion to N1.095 trillion from N1.086 trillion, and the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went up by 6.89 points to end the day at 792.06 points as against the 785.17 points it recorded at the previous session.

At the trading session, the volume of securities traded increased by 906.7 per cent to 241,597 units from 24,000 units, the value of shares transacted by market participants rose by 40.7 per cent to N11.4 million from the N8.1 million achieved a day earlier, as the number of deals executed during the session went up by 100 per cent to 12 deals from the six deals carried out in the preceding session.

Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.1 billion units valued at N21.2 billion, Geo-Fluids stood in second place with 631.0 units worth N1.1 billion, while Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was in third place with 610.7 million units valued at N48.4 million.

Also, CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with the sale of 1.1 billion units worth N21.2 billion, followed by VFD Group with 26.4 million units valued at N5.9 billion, while FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc was in third place with 18.6 million units worth N1.3 billion.
