Transactions on the floor of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange finished in a stalemate on Monday, December 21.

This resulted in the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) remaining unchanged at 722.82 points at the close of business yesterday. In the same vein, the market capitalisation of the exchange remained intact at N537.27 billion.

Business Post reports that the appetite for unlisted stocks was low yesterday as only one deal was executed during the trading session in contrast to the two deals achieved at the preceding session, indicating a 50 per cent decline.

The lone deal was made on securities belonging to FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, one of the bellwethers of the unlisted securities market in Nigeria.

The total number of shares transacted yesterday dropped by 89.5 per cent as only 3,250 units were traded compared to the 33,500 units transacted last Friday when the market last opened for trading activities.

Also, the value of the shares exchanged by the two investors on Monday stood at N489,280, 76.2 per cent lower than the N2.1 million recorded at the previous session.

At the close of business, the NASD OTC market recorded no single price gainer or loser as the share price of all the 41 admitted securities on the bourse retained their previously prices.

Also, ARM Life Plc maintained its position as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) as a result of the 7.4 billion units of its securities worth N4.6 billion transacted by investors. Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSC) Plc was in second place with 213.7 million units valued at N2.9 billion, while Food Concepts Plc followed with 152.2 million units worth N109.5 million.

ARM Life Plc equally ended the session as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 7.4 billion units of its shares worth N4.6 billion. Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc came in second place with 11.9 million units traded at N3.7 billion, while CSCS Plc settled in the third spot for transacting 213.7 million units of its securities valued at N2.9 billion.
