Transactions on NASD OTC Platform Close in Stalemate

The last trading session of the week on the floor of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed in the flat territory on Friday.

Business Post reports that the unlisted securities bourse recorded no movement in the key performance indices as they retained their previous closing values.

The market capitalisation of the NASD OTC platform was yesterday at N611.29 billion, while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) settled at 739.90 points.

During the trading day, the share prices of all the securities of companies admitted to the exchange remained unchanged.

However, there were changes on the activity chart as the volume of transactions decreased by 96.4 per cent to 4,200 units from the 117,669 units exchanged the previous day.

In the same trend, there was a 92.9 per cent decrease in the total value of shares transacted by traders to N491,800 from Thursday’s N6.9 million worth of stocks transacted by investors.

Also, the number of deals carried out by the traders depreciated by 60 per cent to two deals in contrast to the five deals carried out at the previous session.

When the market closed for the day, Food Concepts Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 11.4 billion units of its shares worth N14.4 billion. Lighthouse Financial Services Plc traded 1.1 billion units worth N546.2 million to occupy the second spot, while Geo Fluids Plc, which claimed the third place, has traded 1.0 billion units worth N700.1 million.

Similarly, Food Concepts Plc finished the trading session as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with a turnover of 11.4 billion units of its securities worth N14.4 billion, followed by Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Group Plc with the sale of 456.5 million units valued at N9.2 billion, and VFD Group Plc with a turnover of 10.4 million units valued at N3.5 billion.
