The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange jumped by 0.44 per cent on Friday, January 12 after Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc ended in the green territory.

CSCS Plc kept the unlisted securities market bullish despite efforts by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc to pull it down yesterday.

Consequently, the market capitalisation of the alternative bourse increased by N5.66 billion on the final session of the week to N1.293 trillion from the N1.288 trillion of the previous day, while the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) gained 4.15 points to end at 954.55 points versus Thursday’s closing value of 950.38 points.

CSCS Plc gained N1.30 at the close of business yesterday to finish at N19.95 per share compared with the preceding day’s N18.64 per share, while FrieslandCampino lost 46 Kobo to trade at N80.33 per unit, in contrast to the previous day’s N80.79 per unit.

On the trading day, the value of trades fell by 17.8 per cent to N10.9 million from the previous session’s N13.3 million, while the volume of stocks exchanged at the market surged by 1,525.8 per cent to 206,771 units from the 12,718 units published on Thursday, with the number of deals carried out rising by 275 per cent to 15 deals from the four deals executed in the previous trading session.

UBN Property Plc closed the day as the most traded security by volume on a year-to-date basis with 24.4 million units sold for N42.7 million, Geo-Fluids Plc followed with 20.0 million units valued at N48.0 million, and Purple Real Estate was in third place with 5.5 million units worth N28.8 million.

The most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis was Aradel Plc with a turnover of 272,902 units valued at N326.9 million, Geo-Fluids Plc was in second place with the sale of 20.0 million units worth N48.0 million, and UBN Property Plc was in third place with 24.4 million units sold for N42.7 billion.
