Unlisted Securities Bourse Records Marginal 0.01% Loss Midweek

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange slid 0.01 per cent on the back of bearish price movement from FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc on Wednesday, November 2.

The marginal loss reduced the market capitalisation of the unlisted securities bourse by N90 million to N948.92 billion from N949.01 billion, as the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) also decreased by 0.08 points to wrap the session at 720.83 points compared with 720.91 points recorded in the previous session.

Business Post reports that the share price of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc went down by 5 Kobo in the midweek to close at N69.95 per unit compared with the previous closing price of N70.00 per unit.

Yesterday, there was a rise in the volume of securities traded by investors by 292.4 per cent to 75,453 units from the 19,250 units transacted in the preceding session.

In the same vein, the value of transactions increased during the session by 656.6 per cent to N5.2 million from the N686,450 recorded a day earlier.

These trades were carried out in nine deals, 125 per cent higher than the four deals executed on Tuesday.

At the close of business transactions, AG Mortgage Plc remained the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with a turnover of 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, Central Securities Clearing Systems (CSCS) Plc followed with the sale of 687.8 million units worth N14.3 billion, while Mixta Real Estate Plc was in third place with a turnover of 178.1 million units valued at N313.4 million.

The most active stock by value (year-to-date) was still CSCS with the sale of 687.8 million units valued at N14.3 billion, followed by VFD Group Plc with the sale of 29.1 million units worth N7.7 billion, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with a turnover of 15.1 million units valued at N1.8 billion.
