Unlisted Securities Exchange Investors Gain N6.52bn

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange rose by 0.59 per cent on Friday, September 8, with investors smiling home with N6.52 billion to close that market capitalisation at N1.116 trillion compared with Thursday’s value of N1.109 trillion.

Also, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) appreciated on the last trading session of the week by 4.65 points to finish at 796.04 points compared with the preceding trading session’s 791.39 points.

Yesterday, Aradel Holdings Plc closed as the best-performing stock after it improved its value by N46.01 to trade at N507.01 per share compared to Thursday’s closing value of N461.00 per share, Afriland Properties Plc increased by 6 Kobo to close the day at N3.42 per unit versus N3.36 per unit, and Geo-Fluids Plc went up by 3 Kobo to end at N2.83 per share, in contrast to the previous day’s N2.80 per share.

On the flip side, 11 Plc ended the session as the worst-performing stock after it shed N8 to finish at N172.00 per unit compared with the preceding day’s N180.00 per unit, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc lost 16 Kobo to quote at N17.00 per share compared with Thursday’s N17.16 per share.

During the session, the volume of securities traded decreased by 99.9 per cent to 743,688 units from 5.7 million, the value of shares jumped by 54.4 per cent to N51.1 million from N33.1 million, and the number of deals rose by 16.7 per cent to 14 deals from 12 deals.

At the close of business, CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.1 billion units worth N22.1 billion, UBN Property Plc was in second place with 924.2 million units valued at N917.5 million, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc stood in third place with 646.8 units worth N52.5 million.

Similarly, CSCS Plc closed at the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.1 billion units worth N22.1 billion, VFD Group trailed with 26.5 million units valued at N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc was in third place with 5.9 million units worth N2.0 billion.
