Unlisted Securities Exchange Rises 0.38%

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange rose by 0.38 per cent on Thursday, October 23, spurring the Unlisted Security Index (NSI) increase by 13.94 points to 3,640.49 points from the 3,626.55 points recorded a day earlier.
In the same vein, the market capitalisation of the bourse went up by N8.64 billion to finish at N2.178 trillion, in contrast to the N2.169 trillion achieved on Wednesday.
The expansion posted by the unlisted securities exchange was influenced by Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, which gained N3.79 to close at N44.83 per share compared with midweek’s N41.04 per share.
On the flip side, the price of FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc went down by N5.07 to end at N57.48 per unit versus N62.55 per unit and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc lost 5 Kobo to settle at 46 Kobo per share compared with the previous session’s 51 Kobo per share.
At the close of transactions, the volume of securities traded by investors shrank by 83.8 per cent to 1.2 million units from the previous 7.2 million units, the value of securities fell by 96.5 per cent to N33.7 million from N965.0 million, and the number of deals increased by 100 per cent to 36 deals from 18 deals.
IGI Plc closed the day as the most active stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units worth N419.4 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units traded for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units valued at N4.2 billion.
Okitipupa Plc ended the session as the most active stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 170.2 million units transacted for N8.0 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units sold for N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 46.2 million units worth N2.0 billion.
