Unlisted Securities Exchange Slumps 0.29%

On Thursday, the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange returned to the bearish zone after it closed the trading session with a 0.29 per cent loss.

This reduced the market capitalisation by N2.91 billion to N994.50 billion from N997.41 billion and weakened the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) by 2.21 points to wrap the session at 755.46 points compared with 757.67 points of the previous session.

It was observed that the unlisted securities exchange printed the decline despite not recording a single price gainer or loser at the close of transactions.

However, the activity chart witnessed some movements as the volume of securities traded by investors increased yesterday by 305.6 per cent to 44,526 units from the preceding day’s 10.979 units.

The value of shares traded by the market participants on Thursday also went up by 528.5 per cent to N6.7 million from the N1.07 million posted on Wednesday, while the number of deals executed significantly surged by 750 per cent to 17 deals from two deals.

AG Mortgage Plc finished the day as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 2.3 billion units worth N1.2 billion, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc has transacted 686.6 million units worth N14.2 billion to maintain the second spot, while Food Concepts Plc has exchanged 147.8 million units valued at N128.4 million to claim the third spot.

Similarly, CSCS Plc occupied the top spot as the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) for trading 686.6 million units valued at N14.2 billion, VFD Group Plc was in second place with 24.5 million units worth N6.6 billion, while FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc was in third place with 14.1 million units valued at N1.7 billion.
