Unlisted Securities Index Remains Unchanged

The key performance indicators of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed flat on Thursday for the second time this week.

Business Post reports that this occurred as the share prices of stocks on the exchange maintained their previous values at the close of transactions.

As a result, the market capitalisation of the alternative securities exchange closed flat at N951.16 billion while the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) remained intact at 722.54 basis points.

However, the activity chart witnessed some changes at the close of transactions yesterday, with the volume of shares traded by investors recording a 71.1 per cent spike to 195,500 units from the 114,866 units transacted in the preceding session.

Also, the value of shares exchanged by the market participants went higher by 79.6 per cent to 13.7 million from the previous day’s N7.6 million, while the number of deals carried out by investors depreciated on Thursday by 14.3 per cent to six deals from the seven deals quoted in the preceding market day.

When trading activities closed for the session, AG Mortgage Bank Plc was the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 2.3 billion units for N1.2 billion. Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc occupied the second spot with a turnover of 687.8 million units valued at N14.3 billion, as Mixta Real Estate Plc retained the third spot for trading 178.1 million units worth N313.4 million.

In terms of the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis, CSCS Plc was on top of the chart with the sale of 687.8 million units worth N14.3 billion, trailed by VFD Group Plc with the sale of 29.1 million units worth N7.7 billion, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with a turnover of 15.0 million units valued at N1.8 billion.
