The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange closed in the negative territory by 0.03 per cent on Friday, December 22, as a result of a drop in the stock price of the day’s single loser, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc.
Business Post reports that FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc recorded a decline in the share price by 25 Kobo during the session, closing at N80.75 per unit compared with the previous day’s value of N81.00 per unit, weakening the effect of the day’s since price gainer, UBN Property Plc.
Data from the bourse showed that the property investment company gained 1 Kobo in the last pre-Christmas trading session, closing at N1.90 per share compared with Thursday’s closing price of N1.89 per share.
At the close of transactions, the value of the unlisted securities market went down by N430 million to N1.259 trillion from the previous day’s N1.260 trillion and the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) depreciated by 0.32 points to end the day at 929.50 points as against the 929.82 points it recorded at the previous session.
Yesterday, there was a slump in the volume of securities traded by the market participants by 97.2 per cent to 82,008 units from the 2.9 million units transacted in the previous session, there was a decline of 62.6 per cent in the value of transactions to N7.0 million from N18.8 million, and the number of deals decreased by 52.4 per cent to 10 deals from the 21 deals executed a day earlier.
UBN Property Plc closed the session as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) with 1.7 billion units valued at N2.2 billion, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc was in second place with 1.2 billion units worth N22.4 billion and Geo-Fluids Plc stood in third place with 834.1 units worth N1.7 billion.
CSCS Plc was the most traded stock by value (year-to-date) with 1.2 billion units valued at N22.4 billion, trailed by VFD Group with 26.6 million units worth N5.9 billion, and Aradel Holdings Plc with 7.8 million units valued at N3.2 billion.
The market will be closed on Monday and Tuesday for the holidays.
