The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange appreciated by 0.41 per cent on Thursday, October 9, growing the total value of stocks on the platform by N8.45 billion to N2.076 trillion from the N2.067 trillion quoted at the preceding session.

Also, the key performance indicator, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI), increased at the close of trading activities by 14.11 points to 3,470.28 points from the 3,456.17 points recorded at midweek.

Yesterday’s positive performance was buoyed by FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, which added N4.69 to its share price to end at N58.68 per unit versus the previous day’s N54.00 per unit.

However, the price of Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc was down during the session by 5 Kobo to 47 Kobo per share from 52 Kobo per share.

The volume of securities traded at the session rose by 19.7 per cent to 1.5 million units from the previous 1.3 million units, and the number of deals improved by 31.3 per cent to 21 deals from 16 deals, while the value of securities decreased by 6.6 per cent to N8.7 million from N9.3 million.

Okitipupa Plc maintained its spot as the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 160.2 million units sold for N6.2 billion, followed by Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc with 45.3 million units valued at N2.0 billion.

IGI Plc retained its position as the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with 1.2 billion units traded for N418.6 million, trailed by Impresit Bakolori Plc with 536.9 million units transacted for N524.8 million, and Air Liquide Plc with 507.3 million units worth N4.2 billion.
