Unlisted Securities Market Stretches Positive Run by 0.91% in Week 45

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded yet another positive week-on-week performance after stretching its gains by 0.91 per cent in Week 45.

This expanded the portfolios of NASD investors by N11 billion in the week to N1.140 trillion from the N1.129 trillion recorded in Week 44, as the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) increased by 8.12 points to 841.20 points from 833.08 points in the previous week.

There were three price gainers and two losers in the week under review.

The gainers were led by Aradel Holdings Plc, which rose by 10 per cent to finish at N715.00 per share versus the preceding week’s N650.00 per share, Acorn Petroleum Plc gained 8.3 per cent to close at 52 Kobo per unit compared with the earlier week’s 48 Kobo per unit, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc added 5 per cent to finish at N21.00 per unit versus N20.00 per unit.

However, UBN Property Plc recorded an 8.1 per cent loss to end the week at N1.36 per share versus N1.48 per share, while FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc depreciated by 5 per cent to close at N74.00 per share versus the previous week’s N77.85 per share.

The total value of stocks traded during the week rose by 0.2 per cent from N120.4 million units recorded in Week 44 to N120.6 million, while the volume of shares slid by 56 per cent to 8.6 million from 3.8 million, and the number of deals decreased by 12.9 per cent to 70 deals from 62 deals.

Aradel Holdings Plc was the most traded stock by value with N69.7 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc traded N38.4 million, CSCS Plc exchanged N4.7 million, Afriland Properties Plc traded N2.7 million, and Capital Bancorp Plc transacted N2.0 million.

In terms of the volume of trades, UBN Property Plc led with 1.0 million units, Capital Bancorp Plc followed with 0.92 million units, Afriland Properties Plc posted 0.78 million units, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc recorded 0.51 million units, and CSCS Plc transacted 0.23 million units.
