Unlisted Securities Trading Indices Deplete by 0.81%

The unlisted securities trading indices depreciated by 0.81 per cent on Tuesday as profit-taking weakened the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange during the session.

According to data, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) went down yesterday by 5.84 points to wrap the session at 718.97 points compared with 724.81 points achieved in the previous session, as the market capitalisation decreased by N7.68 billion to settle at N944.73 billion compared with the previous day’s N952.41 billion.

At the alternative stock market, there were two price gainers and one price loser.

The gainers were led by Nipco Plc, which grew by N5.00 to settle at N65.00 per share versus Monday’s N60.00 per share, and Geo-Fluids Plc expanded by 4 Kobo to end at N1.24 per unit versus N1.20 per unit.

The sole loser was FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria Plc, which depreciated by N4.50 to finish at N70.00 per unit, in contrast to the preceding session’s N74.50 per unit.

During the session, there was a rise in the volume of securities traded by 16,174.9 per cent to 32.3 million units from the 198,450 units transacted a day earlier.

Equally, the value of shares traded at the session ballooned by 3,087.8 per cent to N36.2 million from N1.13 million, as the number of deals increased by 175.00 per cent to 11 deals from four deals.

Business Post reports that Geo-Fluids was the busiest stock yesterday as it transacted 20.050 million units, UBN Property exchanged 10.503 million units, Afriland Properties traded 164,000 units, FrieslandCampina exchanged 13,638 units, Nipco transacted 13,277 units, and Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) sold 1,554 units.

On a year-to-date basis, Geo-Fluids Plc was the most traded stock by volume with 364.9 million units valued at N368.5 million, UBN Property Plc trailed with 335.3 units valued at N283.3 million, and VFD Group Plc was in third place with 7.2 million units valued at N1.6 billion.

By value, VFD Group Plc was on top of the chart with 7.2 million units worth N1.6 billion, trailed by Geo-Fluids Plc with 364.9 million units worth N368.5 million, and UBN Property Plc with 335.3 million units valued at N283.3 million.
