Unlisted Security Exchange Grows 0.12% in One Week

The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange recorded a 0.12 per cent week-on-week growth in the 32nd week of trading in 2022, driven by three companies; CitiTrust Holdings Plc, Afriland Plc, Friesland Campina Wamco Nigeria Plc.

In the five days of trading last week, the key performance indicators of the unlisted security exchange expanded, with the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) rising by 0.91 points to 762.18 points from 761.27 points and the market capitalisation growing by N1 billion to N1.003 trillion from the N1.002 trillion achieved in the preceding week.

In the week, CitiTrust Holdings Plc gained 8.2 per cent to settle at N11.90 per unit in contrast to the previous rate of N11.00 per unit, Afriland Plc went up by 7.8 per cent to N1.10 per unit from N1.02 per unit while Friesland Campina Wamco Plc chalked up 0.4 per cent to settle at N90.35 per share compared with the previous N90.00 per share.

The market also witnessed price losers, with Food Concepts Plc declining by 4.2 per cent to sell for 91 Kobo per unit, as against the previous week’s 95 Kobo units, Niger Delta Exploration and Production (NDEP) Plc fell by 0.7 per cent to N209.84 per share from N211.22 per share, while NASD Plc lost 0.06 per cent to trade at N16.18 per unit versus N16.19 per unit.

In the week, there was a 53.1 per cent decrease in the total value of trades to N142.7 million from N304.0 million, the total volume, however, increased by 6.5 per cent to 1.8 million units from 1.7 million units, while the number of deals went up by 46.5 per cent to 63 trades from the 43 trades achieved in the preceding week.

At the close of the week, Food Concepts Plc was the most traded security by volume with 994,000 units. NDEP Plc traded 581,283 units, CitiTrust Holdings Plc exchanged 108,683 units, FreislandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc transacted 49,590 units, while Afriland Plc traded 42,841 units.

In terms of the value of trades in the week, NDEP Plc topped with N134.0 million, FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc followed with N4.5 million, CitiTrust Holdings Plc posted N1.3 million, 11 Plc recorded N949,860 while Food Concepts Plc raked in N902,214.

In the year so far, investors have traded a total of 3.2 billion units in 1,840 deals valued at N22.5 billion.
