Unlisted Security Index Closes 1.75% Higher as Aradel, CSCS Gain

The appreciation in the stock prices of Aradel Holdings Plc and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc pushed the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange higher by 1.75 per cent on Monday, January 8.

At the close of transactions yesterday, Aradel Plc gained N66.30 to settle at N1,181.30 per unit compared with last Friday’s closing value of N1,115.00 per unit, and CSCS Plc expanded by N1.73 to quote at N19.04 per share, in contrast to the preceding session’s N17.31 per share.

However, Geo-Fluids Plc was hit with a 25 Kobo loss during the trading session to settle at N2.30 per unit compared with the preceding trading day’s price of N2.55 per cent.

But this did not affect the unlisted stock exchange, as its total value grew by N21.99 billion on Monday to finish at N1.281 trillion compared with the N1.259 trillion it ended in the previous trading session.

In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) recorded an addition of 16.22 points to end the day at 945.21 points as against the 928.99 points it recorded at the previous session.

It was observed that the volume of securities traded at the bourse yesterday surged by 451.2 per cent to 5.1 million units from the 929,440 units traded at the last session.

Equally, the value of shares traded on Monday increased by 5,452.2 per cent to N122.9 million from N2.2 million, and the number of deals increased by 300 per cent to 24 deals from six deals.

At the close of business, Geo-Fluids Plc was the most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis with 10.0 million units worth N23.0 million, Purple Real Estate dropped to second place with 5.5 million units valued at N28.8 million, and UBN Property Plc was in third place with 3.6 million units sold for N6.3 million.

The most traded stock by value on a year-to-date basis was Aradel Plc after selling 210,597 units for N248.6 million, Purple Real Estate Plc was in second place with 5.5 million units valued at N28.8 billion, and Geo-Fluids Plc claimed third place with 10.0 million units worth N23.0 million.
