The NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange returned to the green territory on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, after closing flat for seven straight sessions.
During transactions yesterday, the major market indicators pointed north, with the market capitalisation rising by 0.07 percent or N350 million to close at N501.49 billion compared with N501.14 billion it quoted on Monday.
Following the same trend was the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI), which also moved up by 0.07 percent or 0.50 points to close at 698.04 points in contrast to 697.54 points of the previous day.
Furthermore, the exchange recorded a rise in the number of shares traded by investors during the session, growing by 4,473.2 percent from 1,640 units recorded at the last session to 75,000 units on Tuesday.
In the same vein, the total value of securities exchanged at the NASD OTC market on Tuesday went up by 8,737.7 percent to N16.8 million from N190,000 that was realised at the previous session.
However, the number deals executed by traders during the session remained flat at 5 deals.
NIPCO Plc was the market’s only price gainer yesterday as its shares gained N2.67 to close at N75.20 from N72.53 per share.
On the other hand, Niger Delta Exploration and Production Plc (NDEP) closed as the day’s sole price loser, with its stock depreciating by 81 Kobo to close at N323.11 per share from N323.92 per share.
ARM Life Plc closed as the most traded stock by volume (year-to-date) yesterday with 29 million units of shares worth N18.3 million, while Nipco Plc followed with 50,150 units traded at N5.5 million.
Niger Delta Exploration and Production Plc (NDEP) has exchanged 65,000 units valued at N20.4 million so far this year, while Friesland Campina Wamco Plc has sold 6,330 units valued at N759,600.
