FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc returned the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange to the green zone on Wednesday by 1.06 per cent.
Shares of FrieslandCampina appreciated in midweek by N5.50 to settle at N100.00 per unit in contrast to the previous session’s value of N94.50 per unit.
As a result, the market capitalisation of unlisted stocks went up by N10.74 billion to N1.022 trillion from the N1.011 trillion it quoted in the previous session.
In the same vein, the NASD Unlisted Security Index (NSI) expanded by 8.16 basis points to end the day at 776.30 points as against the 768.14 points it recorded in the previous session.
During the trading day, the volume of securities traded at the bourse by investors increased by 249.3 per cent to 35,562 units from 10,182 units, the value of the stocks went up by 391.3 per cent to N6.0 million from the N1.2 million made on Tuesday, while the number of deals rose by 9.1 per cent to 12 deals from the 11 deals executed a day earlier.
At the close of business, AG Mortgage Bank Plc remained the most traded stock by volume on a year-to-date basis with the sale of 2.3 billion units valued at N1.2 billion, Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc trailed with the sale of 686.5 million units worth N14.2 billion, while Food Concepts Plc in third place has transacted 146.5 million units valued at N127.2 million.
By value on a year-to-date basis, the occupier of the top spot, CSCS Plc, has not let go as it has exchanged 686.5 million units valued at N14.2 billion, followed by VFD Group for the sale of 11.1 million units worth N3.3 billion, and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc with a turnover of 13.9 billion units valued at N1.7 billion.
