Value of Unlisted Securities Jumps by 2.05% in One Week

The market capitalisation of the NASD Over-the-Counter (OTC) Securities Exchange increased by 2.05 per cent or N9.3 billion last week to N1.140 trillion from N1.120 trillion after Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) Plc was admitted to the platform.

However, the NASD Unlisted Securities Index (NSI) could manage an appreciation of 1.21 per cent or 9.61 points in the five-day trading week to settle at 805.65 points compared with the preceding week’s 796.04 points.

In the week under review, the total volume of trades decreased by 26.5 per cent to 4.72 million units from the 7.42 million units achieved in the previous week, as the value of transactions went down by 26.5 per cent to N113.3 million from the N153.9 million posted in the previous week, while the number of deals increased by 33.82 per cent to 91 deals from the 68 deals executed in Week 36.

In Week 37, the gainers’ list was led by Aradel Holdings Plc, which grew by 11.4 per cent to close at N564.71 per share versus the earlier week’s N507.01 per share, Food Concepts Plc made a 9.5 per cent growth to N1.39 per share from N1.27 per share, Industrial and General Insurance (IGI) Plc improved by 9.5 per cent to end at 23 Kobo per unit compared with 21 Kobo per unit, FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc made a 3.6 per cent appreciation to close at N75.90 per unit versus the previous week’s N73.29 per unit, and Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc rose by 2.9 per cent to N17.50 per share versus N17.00 per share.

On the flip side, 11 Plc made a 16.1 per cent slide to N144.40 per share from N172 per share, while Air Liquide Plc dropped 9.1 per cent to finish at N5.00 per unit, in contrast to the preceding week’s N5.50 per unit.

At the close of the week, Aradel Plc was the most traded stock by value with N57.8 million, CSCS Plc traded N32.8 million, FrieslandCampina Wamco Nigeria  Plc exchanged N10.5 million, 11 Plc transacted N9.0 million, and NASD Plc traded N1.2 million.

In terms of the volume of trades in the week, LighthouseFinancial Services Plc topped with 1.9 million units, CSCS Plc followed with 1.87 million units, IGI Plc posted 0.35 million units, Air Liquide Plc recorded 0.18 million units, and FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc traded 0.14 million units.
