A training programme aimed to enhance robotics learning in schools across Lagos State has been organised for teachers in the metropolis.
The three-day robotics training programme commenced on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and will involve 100 teachers drawn from various schools in the state.
Addressing the participants at the venue of the programme, the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industries (LCCI), Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs Olubusola Abidakun, explained that the initiative was the state government’s unwavering commitment to the continuous upskilling and knowledge enhancement of teachers in the state.
She stated that the theme of the training, Supporting Teaching and Robotics Learning in Schools for Teachers in Lagos State, was carefully chosen to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the evolving dynamics of modern education.
According to her, the state government has been steadfast in its resolve to optimise the capacity building of teachers because it recognises that the quality of education is inseparable from the competence and dedication of teachers.
The Permanent Secretary said this was why Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has spared no effort in providing avenues for continuous professional development of teachers.
Mrs Abidakun urged the participants to approach the programme with an open mind and a readiness to embrace the opportunities for learning and collaboration, saying that the skills they acquired at the training programme would enhance their professional capabilities.
