LSUBEB Pledges More Support for Education

Executive Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Ganiyu Oluremi Sopeyin has reaffirmed the commitment of the Board to further improve on what has been achieved by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration in the area of basic education in the state.

Dr Sopeyin, who gave the assurance today in his Office at Maryland during a courtesy call by the Standing Committee of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, Lagos State (ANCOPSS), noted that the standard of education in the State has improved a lot because of the policies of the present administration on education.

According to him, the Governor has always been supportive of the sector and ready to provide whatever is necessary to make available qualitative and quantitative education in a conducive atmosphere for students in the State.

“Our primary education is very competitive likewise our secondary and tertiary institutions are breaking new grounds with the Lagos State University now adjudged to be one of the best in Nigeria”, he said.

He commended the leadership of the Association, urging them to continue the legacy of the outgoing President of the Association, Mrs Olayinka Omotunde Lawson who has achieved so much within a short time.

In her remarks, Mrs Olayinka Lawson commended the efforts of the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, stressing that with each passing day enviable records are being set in the area of basic education in the State.

While attributing the success recorded by the Executive Chairman of LSUBEB to hard work, honesty, determination and the fear of God, she urged the Chairman to keep the flag flying and that the Almighty God will continue to replenish him.
