Results of the June/July 2017 Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO) have been released.
Registrar of the examination body, Professor Charles Uwakwe, made this known on Thursday in Minna, Niger State.
According to Prof Uwakwe, those that registered for the examination were 1,055,988, while only 1,051,472 candidates sat for it.
Out of the total number of candidate that sat for the exercise, only 745,053 candidates, representing 70.85 percent made 5 credits and above including English language and Mathematics and, further representing 1.11 percent improvement in candidates performance compared with 2016.
He further said 947,850 or 90.14 percent candidates had 5 credits and above irrespective of English and Mathematics representing 1.63 percent improvement compared with last year’s result.
In addition, 903,690 candidates had credit and above in English while 849,335 candidates had credit and above in Mathematics.
