ADC Youth Lambasts Lagos APC Over Attack on Aregbesola
By Modupe Gbadeyanka
The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been slammed by a support group of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for criticising the opposition’s national secretary, Mr Rauf Aregbesola.
The ruling party called the former Governor of Osun State a betrayer, saying he was not in the position to speak against the APC because he wined and dined with the group.
Mr Aregbesola was formerly a chieftain of the APC until he defected to the ADC. He was in Lagos recently to woo more people into the opposition party.
In a statement on Thursday, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC Youth Frontiers, Mr Edwin Abor, said the APC already know that the end of the party has come as Nigerians are increasingly embracing the ‘New Deal’ offer of our great party which is the quickest way to getting Nigeria to the Promised Land, adding that APC is only rehearsing the cry it will cry after 2027 general elections because Nigerians are ever ready to punish them for the yoke of poverty, pains, hardships, hunger and sorrows they afflicted on them.
The group further stated that it was not surprised over the panic-stricken reaction of the party on Mr Aregbesola’s membership drive to Lagos State because the party leaders know that they are only dancing their last macabre dance before it’s burial ceremony in 2027.
“Hence, attacking our national secretary or using state institutions to intimate our leaders will not salvage the party from the crushing defeat that awaits it in 2027 because Nigerians are already regretting the mistake they made with the choice of APC.
“Therefore, we thank Nigerians for embracing our party and encourage those who are yet to identify with it to do so as our promise of new deal is not a hoax but a promise they can see and believe,” he said in the statement.
