A federal lawmaker, Mrs Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, who is representing Oluyole Federal constituency, Ibadan, Oyo State, at the House of Representatives, has lost her mother.
The deceased, Princess Bamidele Abiose Akande, breathed her last on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the age of 91, according to a statement issued by the legislator’s media aide, Mr Lekan Olusada.
The statement, which described Mrs Abiose Akande as a pillar of support for the family and the community, conveyed the lawmaker’s gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and well-wishers during this difficult time.
“We thank God for using her to bring Tolulope Akande-Sadipe and her siblings into the world, as well as for the many lives she has touched through her work in public service.
“She was a devout Christian and a loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her passing is a great loss to the family, her Royal lineage, and the nation at large. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her,” a part of the statement read.
“As we mourn her passing, we take solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled life and left a legacy of love, kindness, and service to others. Her contributions to the community and her unwavering support for her daughter’s political career will always be remembered.
“We pray that God grants Tolulope Akande-Sadipe and her family the fortitude to bear this loss, and we ask that everyone keep them in their prayers during this trying time. We also pray that the soul of Princess Bamidele Abiose Akande finds eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord,” it added.
Princess Akande was the daughter of Princess Sijuolaade (alias Olobaloro), the daughter of the Alaafin of Oyo, the late Oba Siyanbola Onikepe Akanbi Ladigbolu (Ladigbolu I). Her father was of the Afolabi family of Ile Kolobo at Isale Oyo, Oyo.
