The Special Thanksgiving Service to cap the series of activities for Lagos @ 50 Celebrations earlier scheduled to take place at Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, has been moved to another venue.
This comes after the Presiding Chaplain of Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Venerable Femi Taiwo, was allegedly removed barely 24 hours after he failed to first anoint wife of the Governor, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, during an anointing service some days ago at the church.
However, the state government has denied removing the cleric because of this issue as being reported in the media.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Friday, the Lagos State government announced the relocation of the thanksgiving service slated for Sunday, May 28, 2017 from the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, to the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, also at Alausa, Ikeja.
“To cap the series of activities for Lagos @ 50 Celebrations as well as glorify the Almighty God for the 2nd anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration in Lagos State, a Special Thanksgiving Service, earlier scheduled for Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, will now be held at the Banquet Hall, Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
“The theme of the Special Thanksgiving, which commences at 10am prompt, is ‘Pressing on to Greater Heights’, and the Guest Speaker will be Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo,” the statement read.
The celebration of Lagos @ 50 officially began on April 8, 2017, with ‘Waka: The Musical’ at the Terra Kulture Arena, Victoria Island, and will end on today, Saturday, May 27, 2017 with the Children’s Day celebration followed by the historical Gala Night at the Presidential Lodge in Marina, Lagos.
