Oyo State Governor, Mr Abiola Ajimobi, has felicitated with the Edo State Governor-elect, Mr Godwin Obaseki, on his victory at the just-concluded gubernatorial election in the state, saying that the victory was well-deserved.

Mr Ajimobi, in his congratulatory message issued in Ibadan at the weekend by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Yomi Layinka, also congratulated the people of Edo State for their resolve to give their mandate to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Governor noted that the outcome of the keenly-contested election was a further confirmation of the confidence which the people of the state had in APC as well as the present administration under the leadership of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Mr Ajimobi commended APC in the state for what he called a well-articulated and well-coordinated campaign to all the nooks and crannies of the state which earned the party the victory at the poll.

He assured the people of Edo State that given his antecedent as a good manager of men and resources, Mr Obaseki would not betray the confidence they reposed in him by giving him their mandate.

Rather, he said, the Governor-elect would build on the monumental achievements so far recorded by Mr Oshiomhole through his people-oriented programme which had endeared him to the generality of the people of the state.

Mr Ajimobi so called for continued support of Nigerians to the APC-led federal government in its determination to take the country out of its present economic doldrums, stressing that they would have cause to smile when the efforts began to yield fruits.
