Former Governor of Abia State, Mr Orji Uzor Kalu, has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr Kalu was brought before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Monday morning on allegations bordering on money laundering during his tenure in office.
He was the Governor of Abia State between 1999 and 2007 and was first arraigned in 2007 on a 96-count charge of money laundering.
He had tried to stop his prosecution by the EFCC, but some months ago, the Supreme Court ordered him to stand trial.
Also, last week, Mr Kalu urged the Federal High Court in Abuja to force the anti-graft agency to prosecute him in Abuja.
Meanwhile, details of his charges are still sketchy as at the time of writing this report.
