President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed grief over the death of one of the sons of a respected man of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.
On Thursday morning, it was reported that the son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Dare Adeboye, passed on in his sleep on Wednesday in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
Pastor D, as he was fondly called, was said to have gone to bed after a ministration but when after sleeping longer than expected, the wife, Mrs Temiloluwa, went to the room, where she discovered that the 42-year-old cleric was lifeless.
The President, while reacting to the news via a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, commiserated with the family of Pastor Adeboye and prayed that God comforts those the deceased left behind.
“President Muhammadu Buhari extends deepest sympathies to the family of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on the passing of his son, Pastor Dare Adeboye.
“The President prays God Almighty to grant the departed rest in His everlasting kingdom and comfort grieving family, friends and associates,” a part of the statement from the presidency today read.
In addition, Mr Buhari also commiserated with members of the RCCG and urged them to find comfort in the teachings of the Holy Scriptures that those who have chosen to serve God faithfully will see Him as he is in eternity.
Pastor Dare Adeboye, until his death, was the Assistant Pastor in charge of Region (Youth) 35.
