President Muhammadu Buhari will, on Monday, October 31, 2022, leave the shores of Nigeria for London, the United Kingdom, for a medical check-up.

A statement issued today by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, disclosed that Mr Buhari is expected back into the country in the second week of November.

“President Muhammadu Buhari leaves for London, United Kingdom, on October 31, 2022, for a routine medical check-up.

“He returns to the country in the second week of November 2022, the terse statement from Mr Adesina said.

President Buhari has regularly visited London for medical purposes despite campaigning in 2015 that he would end medical tourism if elected as President of Nigeria.

Many people have criticised his visits to his London hospital, but Mr Adesina has defended his boss, saying this is because his doctors in London know his medical history and it was proper to maintain them.
