There is anxiety over the state of health of former Governor of Oyo State, Mr Abiola Ajimobi, who is reportedly battling to stay alive at a private health facility in Lagos.

It has been reported that the former federal lawmaker is bedridden at a hospital in Lagos. He is reportedly infected with the dreadful coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to report, he slipped into coma and has been placed on ventilator because of his alleged inability to breathe very well.

On Thursday night, news filtered in that he was dead, but one of his media aides, Mr Bolaji Tunji, has insisted that the former Governor is still alive.

Also, a daughter of a former Governor of Oyo State, Ms Kemi Olunloyo, claimed she spoke with a family member, who confirmed to her that Mr Ajimobi is still alive.

“I was inundated by messages that fmr Governor @AAAjimobi has DIED in Lagos! I could not get info from Oyo lawmakers, elites, media. I have finally confirmed and spoke to the family 9:15pm 6/18/20. He is ALIVE and talking recovering,” she said.

Before her post on Thursday night, some prominent media personalities had claimed that Mr Ajimobi had died from COVID-19.

The former Governor was recently appointed as the acting Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite being bedridden.
