Coronavirus Spreads to Kogi After Initial Resistance

Kogi State finally succumbed to coronavirus after initially resisting the disease for several weeks it first landed in Nigeria.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday announced that the confluence state recorded two cases of the virus.
Before now, Kogi and Cross River States had been the only two of the 36 states of the federation without any case of the pandemic.
But yesterday, the NCDC said of the 389 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the country in the last 24 hours, Kogi State led by Mr Yahaya Bello had two.
A breakdown of the new cases of the virus in Nigeria showed that Lagos posted 256, Katsina had 23, Edo recorded 22, Rivers reported 14, while Kano recorded 13.
Furthermore, Adamawa State recorded 11 cases, Akwa Ibom State posted 11, Kaduna State reported 7, Kwara State had 6, Nasarawa State reported 6, Gombe, Plateau, Abia, Delta, Benue, Niger, Kogi and Oyo States had 2 cases each, while Imo, Borno, Ogun and Anambra States reported one each.
As at yesterday, the country has recorded a total of 8,733 cases of COVID-19, with 254 deaths and 2,501 recoveries.
