The total number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria reached 209 as at Friday, April 3, 2020, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed.
Also, the disease has claimed four lives since it made its entry into the country on February 27, 2020. The number of fatalities increased to four yesterday after new deaths were recorded.
“Twenty-five new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria; 11 in Lagos, 6 in Osun, 3 in the FCT, 3 in Edo, 1 in Oyo and 1 in Ondo
“Two new deaths have been recorded in Lagos and Edo State
“As at 10:30 pm 3rd April there are 209 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria,” a statement issued by NDCD noted.
Earlier in the day, the Lagos State government announced the discharge of new patients after they recovered from the virus, bringing the tally to 25 discharged cases.
A break down by states mean Lagos has 109 cases; FCT with 41; Osun – 20; Oyo – 9 and Akwa Ibom- 5.
Others include Ogun, Edo and Kaduna with four cases each; Bauchi with three; Enugu and Ekiti with two each; while Rivers and Benue recorded one case each.
They were joined on Friday night by Ondo which recorded its first case to bring the national morbid number to 209.
