EFCC Declares Ex-Pension Reform Team Boss Abdulrasheed Maina Wanted

The former chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Mr Abdulrasheed Maina, has been declared wanted.

Mr Maina was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday.

The agency, in a notice, said Mr Maina is needed to provide answers to an alleged case of receiving stolen properties.

“The public is hereby notified that Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of receiving stolen properties,” the notice signed by the organisation’s Head of Media and Publicity, Mr Dele Oyewale, stated.

The EFCC appealed to anyone with useful information concerning the whereabouts of the alleged fugitive to contact it through its offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja.

“Maina, 61, is an indigene of Biu in Borno State. Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices or through 08093322644; its e-mail address: [email protected] or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies,” it added.

Recall that Mr Maina was extradited to Nigeria in 2020 when he was standing trial for alleged money laundering to the tune of N2 billion. He was apprehended in Niamey, the capital of Niger Republic, after he jumped bail and was declared wanted by an Abuja High Court.
