Ekiti APC Blasts Pastor Adeboye, Says Fayose Bribed Him

By Dipo Olowookere

Ekiti State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has alleged that the state Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, may have bribed General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Aboboye, to shower praises on him.

The respected man of God had commended the Governor for standing by his people in the face of persecution and said the church was praying for him.

“We thank God for your courage, for your boldness, we thank God for your being willing to take risks so that your people can be protected.

“You have been a Governor who knows when to say enough is enough in defence of his people. And I’m sure you know what I’m talking about and I am sure the world knows.

“I don’t want to say more than that but be assured that we are praying for you and you will succeed in Jesus name,” Pastor Adeboye had said during his visit to the state as part of the church’s annual ‘Let’s Go A Fishing’ programme.

But the Ekiti APC, in a statement issued on Sunday, December 25, 2016, by its Chairman, Mr Jide Awe, berated the cleric for endorsing Mr Fayose despite his attacks on President Muhammadu Buhari.

The party expressed shock that Pastor Adeboye even chose period of the birth Jesus Christ to praise Fayose, describing this as “preposterous,” saying also that Mr Fayose can bribe even angel of God to endorse the devil.

Ekiti APC warned the cleric not to let residents of the state rise against him, reminding him that the Vice President, Mr Yemi Osinbajo, is a staunch member of the RCCG.

The party called on members of the RCCG, especially families of the founder, Pa Josiah Akindayomi to call Pastor Adeboye to order before he destroys the church with his involvement in politics, stressing that he must not be allowed to destroy the legacies of the RCCG and its entire members.
