A former Governor of Niger State, Mr Abdulkadir Kure, according to reports, has breathed his last in faraway Germany.
Mr Kure was reportedly flown to a German hospital last week following a relapse of an undisclosed illness.
According to reports, the former Governor had been battling with an undisclosed illness for a while now before his recent trip abroad.
He ruled the state for two terms from 1999 to 2007.
Members of his family are said to be very devastated about the latest development, but are preparing for his burial already.
The former Governor was aged 60.
