Business Post reports that this is not the first time a lecturer, who doubles as a pastor is involved in sex for marks scandal.

In 2018, Professor Richard Akindele accused of demanding sex from one of his female students, Ms Monica Osagie, as condition to get a pass mark in his course. He was a lecturer of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) as well as pastor of a local church. His matter became known after an audio recording of his demand for sex was released on social media.

Later in the same year, a court in Osun State, where the school is located, sentenced him to two years in prison after he had changed his not-guilty plea to guilty.
