A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Ismail, has been abducted by some unknown gunmen in the state.
Mr Ismail was seized at gunpoint on Tuesday morning at his residence in Abapka in the Kaduna metropolis.
According to reports, the hostage takers have made contact with Mr Ismail’s family and have asked for N70 for his freedom.
Meanwhile, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Usman, said efforts are being made to rescue the lawmaker.
Mr Usman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview that the Command has already deployed its officers to rescue the legislator.
Mr Ismail represents Tudun Wada constituency in the House.
